Caregiving & Community Overview
Nearly everyone in Hong Kong will one day care for someone they love: a parent after a stroke, a mother with dementia, most of us while holding down a full-time job. That’s the employee-caregiver reality, juggling deadlines and hospital calls in a city with some of the longest working hours in the world and a rapidly ageing population.

The cost lands unevenly. Women are expected to step back first. Lower-income families have the least access to respite care. Migrant domestic workers, who carry much of the city’s eldercare, get the least protection of all.

Why workplaces matter: when caregiving stays invisible, the smartest people you hired quietly burn out or quit. When a manager says “let’s talk flexible hours,” or caregiver leave is actually available, the same reliable people stay. We help make that choice intentional, through flexible policies, manager training, and space to be honest about what people carry.
