Neurodiversity

The words are the hard part. Here are three you can borrow.

  1. Offering support without singling someone out

    How to say it

"I want to make sure everyone can do their best work here. If there's anything I can adjust or do differently to make things easier for you, please let me know, I'm happy to help."

  2. Responding when someone discloses a neurodivergent condition

    How to say it

"Thank you for telling me. I want to make sure we set things up in a way that works for you, can we find some time to talk through what would help most?"

  3. Addressing stimming or visible behaviour in a group setting

    How to say it

"Everyone works and focuses differently here, that's completely normal. If you have a way of working that helps you concentrate, you're welcome to use it."
