Mental Health

The words are the hard part. Here are three you can borrow.

  1. Manager to employee: non-judgmental check-in

    How to say it

"I've noticed you don't seem quite yourself lately. No pressure to explain, I just want you to know I'm here if you ever want to talk, or just need a bit more space."

  2. Educator: "I-statement" for a quieter student

    How to say it

"I noticed you've been quieter in class lately, and I just wanted to check in. There's no wrong answer here, I'm just glad to listen if you want to talk."

  3. Team wellbeing at a deadline

    How to say it

"This deadline's been intense for everyone. If you're feeling stretched thin, say so, we'd rather adjust the plan than watch you burn out quietly."
